What may be evaluated

The next step depends on the actual conditions.

01

Identify the system first

A water-supply concern should be distinguished from a drain, sewer, fixture, appliance, irrigation, or utility-side issue before a repipe is recommended.

02

Compare repair and replacement

A defined repair may fit an isolated failure. Partial or whole-house water-supply repiping is considered when the observed condition, history, access, and written scope support a broader project.

03

Plan material and routing

PEX and copper each require project-specific review of routing, connections, supports, existing conditions, product instructions, and local requirements. PEX can be damaged by freezing; neither material is a universal answer.

04

Confirm access and closeout

A proposal should identify affected branches, anticipated openings, shutoffs, testing, permit or inspection needs, and who is responsible for patching or finish restoration.

Prepare the request

Useful details make the first conversation better.

Do not take a photo or gather information if doing so would put you near water, sewage, gas, electricity, traffic, or another unsafe condition.

The service address, affected rooms or fixtures, and a safe callback number.
Where water or moisture is appearing, when it began, whether it is active or intermittent, and any prior water-supply repairs.
Safe photos of visible piping, moisture, stains, meter readings, or repair records, if available.
Known pipe material, approximate property age, remodel plans, access limitations, and whether water has been shut off.
Whether the concern follows freezing, a renovation, a pressure or flow change, or another known event.

Is water-supply repiping the same as sewer-line replacement?

No. Water-supply repiping concerns hot- and cold-water pipes that deliver water to fixtures. Sewer-line replacement concerns drainage piping that removes wastewater. They are separate systems unless a written scope specifically includes both.

Does one leak mean I need a whole-house water-supply repipe?

No. One failure can be isolated. The decision should consider the condition of accessible and remaining piping, leak history, access, pressure or flow findings, and the practical scope of repair.

Will PEX prevent future freeze damage?

No. PEX may tolerate some expansion in some conditions, but it is not freezeproof. Any pipe material can be damaged by freezing, installation conditions, fittings, exposure, and other property factors. Protecting piping from freezing remains important.

Does copper always need replacement after repeated leaks?

No. Copper does not universally fail, and repeated leaks do not by themselves establish the right scope. An evaluation should distinguish an isolated issue from a broader observed condition before a partial or whole-house replacement is proposed.

What does the $49 service call cover?

The $49 service call covers the visit and evaluation. A water-supply repair or repiping project is separately scoped and priced before work is approved.
